13th Annual Women of Power National Summit: “Owning Our Power” – March 13-17

The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation’s Black Women’s Roundtable will be hosting the 13th Annual Black Women’s Roundtable Women of Power National Summit from March 13-17, 2024, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City at Reagan National Airport in Arlington, VA, and Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. This event aims to bring together Black women leaders and allies from across the nation and internationally to strategize on high-impact public policy priorities and empowerment plans to improve the lives of Black and underserved women, girls, and families.

The theme for this year’s summit is “Owning Our Power!” which reflects the mission to energize and leverage the collective and individual power of Black women and girls. The event will focus on amplifying the intergenerational power and voices of Black women, recognizing their historic role in shifting political power, and inspiring women and girls to reach new levels of leadership in advocacy, business, and elected office.

Melanie L. Campbell, President & CEO of NCBCP and Convener of the Black Women’s Roundtable, emphasizes the importance of Black women owning their power in today’s political climate. She states that Black women have an unprecedented opportunity to protect their rights, preserve their history, promote diversity and democracy, and participate by voting. The summit will serve as a platform to demonstrate the collective power of the Black vote and ensure that Black women’s voices are not erased.

The BWR Summit ‘24 will feature a range of activities over the course of five days, including Global Empowerment Day, Public Policy Education and Call to Action Day on Capitol Hill, Women’s History Month Celebration, discussions on power, rights, freedom, justice, equity, and equality, as well as sessions focusing on health, healing, inspiration, and faith in action.

The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation is a prominent civil rights and social justice organization committed to increasing civic engagement, economic empowerment, and voter empowerment in Black America. The Black Women’s Roundtable, as the women and girls empowerment arm of NCBCP, advocates for just and equitable public policy on behalf of Black women and promotes their health, wellness, economic security, prosperity, education, and global empowerment.
