Falcons should frustrate more than just Kirk Cousins

The Atlanta Falcons made a surprising move by drafting Michael Penix Jr. as their quarterback, despite having Kirk Cousins on the roster. Penix Jr. has shown great leadership and skill on the field, leading his team to a playoff berth even with lesser talent around him. While he was expected to be picked earlier in the draft, he now finds himself on the bench behind Cousins for at least two seasons. This decision has left both Penix Jr. and fans feeling frustrated, as they were hoping for a pass rusher or a quarterback who could start immediately.

Despite the disappointment, Penix Jr. is a good fit for the Falcons’ locker room and has the potential to be a franchise quarterback in the future. It’s understandable that he may feel frustrated at not getting a chance to compete for a starting job right away, especially when there were other teams interested in him. However, the Falcons seem to have a long-term plan in place for him, and there is hope that both sides will benefit from this decision in the future.

For now, the Falcons have two starting quarterbacks and still need to address their pass rush issue. It remains to be seen how this situation will play out, but there is optimism that Penix Jr. will be able to showcase his talents once he gets his opportunity. As fans eagerly wait to see how this situation unfolds, they can rest assured knowing that the Falcons have a promising young quarterback waiting in the wings.
