Iozera signs MOU with Moroccan Govt for Eco-Friendly AI Data Center

Iozera to Establish 386MW Data Center and AI Hub in Morocco

In an exciting collaboration between U.S.-based tech startup Iozera and the Government of Morocco, a groundbreaking initiative is underway to revolutionize the AI industry. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will pave the way for the establishment of a cutting-edge 386MW Data Center and AI Hub in Tetouan, Morocco. This strategic partnership aims to democratize access to high-performance GPU-based processing for researchers, startups, and businesses worldwide, ensuring advanced AI computing resources are readily available.

This initiative places a strong emphasis on sustainability by harnessing Morocco’s renewable energy resources to power the facility, aligning with global efforts to promote eco-friendly practices in the tech industry. Scheduled for May 8th, 2024, at the Capital Factory in Austin, Texas, the MOU signing event will bring together prominent figures such as His Excellency Mr. Mohcine Jazouli, Her Excellency Dr. Ghita Mezzouri, and a delegation from the Moroccan Government and AMDIE, alongside Taiwan’s Pegatron CTO, James Shue.

The event is open to the public, inviting members of the AI and tech community to witness this historic collaboration. Following the signing ceremony, guests can enjoy an AI mixer featuring Moroccan delicacies and networking opportunities, as well as engaging talks from industry experts, including James Shue, Ahmed Bennis, Timothy Ngo, and Takeshi Hirota.

Eureka Park, the visionary project at the heart of this partnership, is poised to become a global technology AI Hub in Tetouan. Centered around the state-of-the-art 386MW Hyperscale AI Data Center, Iozera, Eureka Park will also host GenV Data Management Services, Ryse Research, and an AI Expo to showcase the latest advancements in AI technology.

The sustainable energy sources powering Eureka Park, including the Noor Solar Power Complex in Ouarzazate and the Koudia Al Baida Wind Farm near Tetouan, highlight Morocco’s commitment to renewable energy and a greener future. This innovative ecosystem not only leads in AI technology but also contributes to Morocco’s economic and technological growth.

Construction is set to begin in Q4 of 2024, with the aim of being operational by Q2 of 2026, just in time to welcome clients and visitors for the 2030 World Cup in Morocco. This collaboration between Iozera and Morocco marks a significant step forward in the AI industry, showcasing the potential for sustainable, cutting-edge technology to drive economic development and innovation.
