Spencer Savings Bank in Elmwood Park, NJ, recently announced that it has awarded $37,500 in scholarships to local high school graduates in New Jersey. The scholarships, totaling $1,500 each, are designed to provide financial assistance for college tuition and have been awarded annually since 2002, amounting to over $600,000 given to deserving students throughout the state.

Students from various New Jersey school districts within Spencer’s market area, including Bergen, Passaic, Union, Mercer, Morris, and Essex counties, were eligible for the scholarships. Each school’s guidance department and/or scholarship committee was responsible for selecting the awardees, who were presented with certificates and invited, along with their families, to a scholarship ceremony held at Spencer Savings Bank’s financial center in Elmwood Park, NJ. At the ceremony, guests had the opportunity to meet and connect with the bank’s executive and senior leadership team, and enjoyed a delicious Italian buffet dinner catered by the bank’s business customer, La Cambusa Restaurant in Wyckoff.
The 2023 Spencer Savings Bank scholarship recipients included students from Bergen, Passaic, Union, Essex, Mercer, and Morris Counties, representing various high schools within these areas.
