‘Maze Runner’ Series Set for a Reboot

The Maze Runner film franchise is getting a reboot a decade after its introduction to the world. 20th Century Studios is in negotiations with Jack Paglen to create a continuation of the story that also returns to the elements that resonated with audiences in the first film. Based on James Dashner’s best-selling books, the series follows a group of teens in a mysterious walled forest called the Glade. The hope is to create another bankable franchise for Disney.

The second and third films in the original trilogy focused on the world outside the Maze and a rebellion against a dystopian government. Producers Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Lee Stollman, Wyck Godfrey, and Marty Bowen are eager to get the project rolling, with Wes Ball returning to produce. It is uncertain if any of the franchise’s previous stars will return for the new series.

While details about the timeline for the reboot are still unclear, there is excitement building around the project. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming reboot of The Maze Runner franchise.
