NC State University

The highly anticipated return of the Wolfpack Swim & Dive Team to the Willis R. Casey Aquatic Center is just around the corner, as NC State is gearing up to host a dual meet with Texas on Friday, Jan. 26th. Both the NC State and Texas teams come into the meet with impressive rankings, with the Wolfpack Men ranked No. 4 and the Women at No. 8, while the Longhorns women are ranked No. 2 and the men at No. 8.

This exciting event marks the third consecutive year that the Wolfpack and Longhorns will face off, with Texas emerging victorious in their previous two meetings. NC State is returning from a successful trip to Charlottesville, with the men’s team securing wins against both Virginia and UNC, and the women’s team splitting after defeating UNC but falling to Virginia.

During the previous outing, the Wolfpack men achieved two pool records with exceptional performances in the 400-medley relay and the 400 free relay. Notably, Kacper Stokowski, Sam Hoover, Luke Miller, and Quintin McCarty delivered outstanding performances, solidifying their dominance in the pool. Stokowski’s exceptional performance earned him the title of ACC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, making him the third NC State swimmer this season to receive the prestigious conference award, following in the footsteps of Luke Miller and Abby Arens.

Additionally, fans of the Wolfpack will notice the absence of Bayleigh Cranford from the diving portion of the meet, as she is currently training in Dubai in preparation for the 2024 World Aquatic Championships in Doha. Her commitment to excellence was evident when she clinched first place at the Tennessee Diving Invite in the 1-meter event with an impressive score of 300.55.

For fans planning to attend the meet, it’s important to note that a virtual parking permit is required for entry. Free parking permits can be obtained by following the instructions provided on the official NC State athletics website. All parking for attendees will be located in the Coliseum Deck and will be available starting at noon on the day of the event.

The much-anticipated showdown between the Wolfpack and the Longhorns promises to be an electrifying event, providing a thrilling opportunity for fans and supporters to witness top-tier talent in action. With streaming available on ACC Network Extra, swimming and diving enthusiasts from all around can tune in to catch the excitement live.
