Sino-German Forum for Industrial Cooperation in Beijing

In a significant step towards enhancing economic and technological cooperation between China and Germany (Europe), the Beijing Sino-German Forum for Industrial Cooperation and Development was held on May 13th at the Beijing China-Germany International Conference and Exhibition Center. The event, organized by the People’s Government of Shunyi District of Beijing Municipality, the International Economic Senate, and the Network for International Cooperation on Technology Commercialization, highlighted the theme of “Openness and Innovation, Win-win Cooperation.”

During the forum, Shunyi District Mayor Cui Xiaohao awarded appointment certificates to the first group of experts and advisors for the Sino-German (Sino-European) Hidden Champions, showcasing the district’s commitment to international best practices and cooperation with Germany and Europe. The event also saw the presentation of the “Research report on industrial cooperation between Chinese and German hidden champions” by the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, emphasizing the need for increased collaboration and shared resources for mutual development.

At the same time, the initiative to build a new ecology for German-Chinese (European) industrial cooperation was launched, calling for more participation from industrial parks and companies to strive for common development. Several cooperation agreements were signed for projects covering areas such as new energy, intelligent vehicles, digital economy, and education and culture, promoting a diverse range of collaborations between the two regions.

Looking ahead, Shunyi District aims to develop the Beijing Economic and Technological Cooperation Demonstration Zone with a focus on Germany, serving as a model project for future endeavors. The district is dedicated to creating a top-notch business environment and establishing itself as a central gateway for international engagement, signaling a push towards a more open economy in Shunyi and Beijing as a whole.

Overall, the Beijing Sino-German Forum showcased the growing potential for economic and technological cooperation between China and Germany (Europe), emphasizing the principles of openness, innovation, and mutually beneficial collaboration. With a focus on strategic partnerships and shared development, the event set the stage for enhanced cooperation and economic growth in the region.
